Unity Archive Project: the 70s and 80s

Another new resource from this period of the Asian American Movement covers the work of the League of Revolutionary Struggle (LRS). The LRS was a multi-racial organization that included large numbers of Asian American, Latino and African American organizers and in leadership. Consequently, their public presence includes numerous media that cover communities of color.

Among the collection relevant to Asian American activism are articles from Getting Together, pdfs of East Wind magazine, and a video oral history with Fay Wong, a member of the League of Revolutionary Struggle. The site intends to add additional video oral histories over time. The project is run by volunteers and expands as their time allows.

You can find the unity archive project at unityarchiveproject.org. For activists and scholars of the period, it’s worth browsing the extensive collection.
