While Asian Americans overall have unemployment rates about equal to whites i.e less than African Americans and Latinos, long term unemployment is a big problem. Unemployed Asian Americans are unemployed for six months of more at rates comparable to African Americans, the highest of all racial groups. The Center for Economic and Policy Research has issued a March report based on government data that shows about half of all Asian American unemployed are long-term unemployed. The long-term unemployed have much more difficulty getting rehired.

Americans continue to see Iran as the number one enemy of the U.S. That's not surprising given all the saber-rattling that Obama has made against Iran. East Asian countries however run close behind, according to a February Gallup poll. China runs a close second. China rose from 14% in 2001 to 23% in 2012. There's been many anti-China ads in this campaign season. North Korea is third at 10%, followed by Afghanistan and Iraq. Is it a coincidence that it's all countries of color?

According to the Pew Research Center, Asian Americans are marrying out at a higher rate than any other racial group. In 2010, nearly 28% of marriages involving Asian Americans were to those of another race. In total marriages, it identified white-Asian marriages as the second most frequent intermarriage relationships. Most common were white-Latino, two out of five intermarriages. 15% of all marriages were between people of different races. Disproportionately more Asian American females intermarry, contrary to disporportionately more Latino and African American males. White-Asian intermarriages tend to be of the higher incomes.
