Family Unity Campaign to Stop Cambodian American Deportations

From Deported Diaspora

ICE has been conducting targeted raids across the US over the past few weeks.  They started to hit Massachusetts last week. We are in touch with four of the families picked up here in MA and two others picked up in Maine. ICE is targeting Cambodian Nationals with prior "orders of removal." All of the detainees are fathers and husbands to US-citizen children and spouses and have been the main income provider for their families including their elderly parents.

We just received an email from Cambodia saying that there are 49 travel documents that have been issued, and ten of those will arrive in Cambodia in September.

As you also may know that we have been going through strategic planning since January this year and this past May we decided to close down DD's organizing work this Sunday Aug. 22nd.  But with all that has been happening over the past two weeks we are delaying our closure.

We will be beginning a national campaign around "Family Unity" on Monday and locally we will be working to not have the people picked up in MA to be deported.

Again, if there is any support that you can provide it would be very appreciated!
